The practical details

Terms of service

1. A detect-only service

Sterling checks agreed signup, login and checkout flows in real browsers and provides bug reports and weekly summaries. A person reviews a bug before we send it to you. We do not change your code or fix bugs. You and your developers decide how to respond to reports.

2. Your permission and test access

You must own the site or have permission to authorize testing. Provide a dedicated test account with only the access needed for the agreed flows, never an administrator account. Checkout testing requires test mode or a 100%-off coupon. We never use a real card. Tell us which actions or areas are off limits. Please arrange a secure handoff for credentials rather than putting a password in your initial inquiry email.

3. What checking can and cannot promise

We aim to check your agreed flows every night. We cannot guarantee that every bug will be caught or that every scheduled check will complete. Network problems, unavailable sites and other interruptions may prevent a check. A passing check means the tested flow passed at that time; it is not a guarantee that the entire site is error-free. We do not promise that every issue will be found before a customer encounters it.

4. Monthly billing and cancellation

The first month is $49. After that, the service is $199 per month, billed monthly in advance until you cancel. Prices are in US dollars. You can cancel anytime by emailing founder@sterlingqa.com. Cancellation stops the next monthly renewal; your service continues through the period already paid for unless you ask us to stop sooner. Except for the false-alarm guarantee below, cancellation does not refund the current paid month.

5. Our false-alarm refund

If we ever send you a false alarm, you get that month's payment back. 100%.

A “false alarm” means a bug we reported to you was not real at the time of the recorded check. A bug that was real and was later fixed, or that cannot be reproduced later, is not automatically a false alarm. The recorded video evidence decides whether the reported bug was real at that time. If the video does not substantiate the claimed bug, we treat the report as a false alarm.

Email founder@sterlingqa.com with the report you dispute. The refund is the full payment for the service month containing that report: $49 for the introductory month or $199 for a regular month. It applies to that month only, not earlier or later months or other losses. Multiple false alarms in the same month do not create multiple refunds of the same payment. This does not limit any rights that applicable law gives you.

6. Privacy and questions

Our Privacy policy explains how we handle your site URL, test account and browser evidence. Questions about these terms or your service? Contact founder@sterlingqa.com at sterlingqa.com.
